If your friend on Facebook, Instagram, or whatever social media platform you’re on, asks you to buy them a gift card or requests for some sort of personal information, even if it is a close friend, don’t jump the gun.

Get in touch with them through other channels

Giving them a call or even sending them a short text will save you the hassle of attempting to retrieve your hard-earned money from a ghost. Always make sure that the person making the request is indeed your friend and not a scammer.
