I then proceeded to ask how they obtained my number, and they claimed to be from the "IMDA" (Infocomm Media Development Authority), stating they had my records. When I asked them to identify my telecom provider based on their records, they were unable to provide an answer and became agitated. That's when I ended the conversation.
