BANK ACCOUNT TRANSACTION LIMITS
Lower your bank account transaction limits to reduce potential losses. Use your bank's mobile app as the main method of making transactions where possible. Monitor transaction notifications to guard against unauthorised transactions.
PRIVACY SETTINGS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
STRONG PASSWORDS
Set a strong password containing at least 12 characters. Use five different words that relate to a memory that is unique to you. e.g. Learntorideabikeatfive.
Use uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols to make it even harder to crack.

REPORT AND BLOCK SCAM CONTACTS
Report scam numbers via the ScamShield app. Block scam numbers on your phone whenever possible.


CHECK
Check for scam signs and with official sources. You can also verify with people you trust whenever you are in doubt.

Check scam signs and trends with legitimate sources (e.g. Singapore Police Force, Scam Alert, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore & National Crime Prevention Council online channels).

OFFICIAL PLATFORMS AND TRUSTED OTHERS
If you have any doubts or suspicions about a potential scam, seek a second opinion from a trusted source. For example, you can contact the NCPC's anti-scam hotline at 1800-722-6688 or check this website for more information.
CHECK SELF
Check your own responses and emotions. Delay responding to requests, orders, or instructions that make you feel pressured or uncertain, such as a deal with a limited time period or when you are told to resolve a matter immediately.


TELL
Tell authorities if you encounter scams and share the latest scam alerts with friends and family.
AUTHORITIES
If you have fallen prey to a scam, report to your bank and file a police report. You can also report scam calls and messages you receive via the ScamShield app.
If you come across any scammers, report and block the suspicious accounts or profiles on the respective social media platform.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Protect your loved ones from scams by sharing the latest scam trends, signs, and encounters with them. Be particularly mindful of those who may be more vulnerable to scammers, such as friends or family seeking companionship, jobs, offers, or investments.
