2-FACTOR / MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION

Add an extra layer of protection to your online accounts by setting up additional authentication methods. You can easily set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for your social media accounts by following these links.

BANK ACCOUNT TRANSACTION LIMITS

Lower your bank account transaction limits to reduce potential losses. Use your bank's mobile app as the main method of making transactions where possible. Monitor transaction notifications to guard against unauthorised transactions.

PRIVACY SETTINGS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS

Add privacy settings to limit and/or prohibit strangers from viewing your activities or contacting you on social media accounts. You can improve your privacy settings via these links below.

STRONG PASSWORDS

Set a strong password containing at least 12 characters. Use five different words that relate to a memory that is unique to you. e.g. Learntorideabikeatfive.

Use uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols to make it even harder to crack.

If you have any doubts or suspicions about a potential scam, seek a second opinion from a trusted source. For example, you can contact the NCPC's anti-scam hotline at 1800-722-6688 or check this website for more information.

Check your own responses and emotions. Delay responding to requests, orders, or instructions that make you feel pressured or uncertain, such as a deal with a limited time period or when you are told to resolve a matter immediately.
