WHAT IS A KIDNAP SCAM?
You get a call from someone claiming that a loved one of yours has been kidnapped. During the call, you might hear screaming or crying in the background.
Look out for these scam signs
No real details
Scammers who claim to have kidnapped your loved one but refuse to give you you descriptive details of that person.
How to stay safe
Don't panic no matter how threatening the caller may sound.
Contact your loved one immediately to confirm their safety and whereabouts.
You can do this while still on the phone with the scammer. Scammer may threaten you to not contact another person for help.

Under no circumstances should you transfer money to the caller.
