On 9 June 2024, I received a call from the mobile number 85029379. The caller said he had changed his number because he lost his phone and wallet. I asked who he was. He claimed to be a friend from Malaysia currently working in Singapore. When I asked for his name, he told me to guess. I guessed Kenneth, and he said yes. He then invited me to the opening of a Japanese restaurant on 22 June 2024. I agreed.

After the call, I received a WhatsApp message with event details. The next day, on 10 June 2024, he called again via WhatsApp, asking me to transfer $3,800 because his bank account was locked, and he needed to pay his supplier. I said I didn’t have that much cash. He then asked for $800 as a deposit. I told him I was busy and to call back in an hour. He agreed, but I never heard from him again. I realized it was a scam and was glad I didn't send any money!
