At around 2000hr, a Mandarin-speaking stranger with a Malaysian Chinese accent called my cellphone. He pretended to be a long-lost friend and informed me that he had changed his phone number to 89320794. When I expressed uncertainty about having such a friend and asked for his name, he identified himself as" Jackon Lim". He mentioned that he would stay in touch via WhatsApp and promised to send his photo to help jog my memory, but he failed to do so.
